Critical PHP Security Vulnerabilities: safeREACH Not Affected

22 October 2026

On October 21, 2026, security updates were released for two critical vulnerabilities in PHP. The widely used programming language powers many websites and web applications. These vulnerabilities could allow attackers to execute malicious code on affected web servers. Organizations around the world therefore had to respond quickly.

Is safeREACH Affected by These Vulnerabilities?

The safeREACH emergency notification system does not use PHP and is therefore not affected by either of these vulnerabilities. The operation of the safeREACH system remains unaffected.

Our company website uses PHP. The necessary security updates have already been applied, addressing the known vulnerabilities.

No action is required from our customers regarding these two vulnerabilities in the safeREACH emergency notification system.

Why a Quick Response Is Essential

The recent events highlight the importance of a fast and coordinated response to critical IT security threats. Even before security updates became available, IT teams had to identify affected systems, assess risks and, in some cases, temporarily take websites or applications offline as a precaution.

Beyond resolving the technical issue, communication also plays an important role. On-call IT teams, security personnel and other responsible individuals must be reachable at short notice.

With the safeREACH emergency notification system, organizations can use predefined alerting procedures, notify the right people and track their responses. This helps maintain reliable alerting through available external communication channels, even when internal IT services are unavailable.
